Lantern Parade 2024 - Rescheduled Information
We are pleased to let you know that Reading Lantern Parade - GLOW will be taking place on Saturday 15th February 2025 at 5.30pm (meeting 4.30pm behind the Broad Street Mall)
Info and times for people with lanterns wanting to join the Parade:
Meet us at the back of the Broad Street Mall on Hosier Street by Blue Collar Food between 4.30pm and 4.45pm at the latest.
We will check your lantern and brief you on how to handle the lantern safely. When you register on the day each child will be also given a wristband with your/their guardians phone number on it for safety.
The parade will begin at 5.30pm
The parade finishes at the Town Hall Square.
Visit the lantern desk to extinguish your candle and return the bamboo pole. The parade will take place in light rain so please dress appropriately.
If you have any questions please email info@beautifulcreatures.org.uk
The event will bring colour and light to the dark February night sky and the choir, drumming troupe, large sculptural lanterns and projections are ready to go!
We're hoping that you can still join us and keep your lanterns safe until that date!
We know accidents can happen, so we are offering a free repair session for any lanterns made with us ahead of this year’s parade.
Pop along with your lantern on either Sunday 26 January, 10.30am - 12.30pm or Wednesday 5 February 12 - 2pm
We will also be able to make minor repairs on the night.
We will see you at the Parade.
