Interstitial Space (2005-8, casts and digital photographs) explores hidden volumes between cobbles and pebbles on the Pembrokeshire seashore.

Cavities and tunnels are visualised by in-situ casting, then photography and magnification allows the viewer to imagine this small and hidden landscape that shelters marine creatures between the tides.

Inside the Space

Journey Into Space (2008, collaborative drawing) is a collective fantasy, started and finished by the artist but with contributions by visitors to ReOrsa’s Artists Project 2 in Bracknell in 2008. Visitors were invited to view photographs of the seashore casts. They were asked to imagine making a journey across the “landscape” then to trace their pathway with a silver pen. The work plays with two and three dimensional representation of space, with positive and negative space, and with real and imagined landscapes.
