Open for Art 2018, 6 – 8 July

Dear artists, makers, designers, explorers, performers, innovators, walkers and talkers

We are planning our fifth Open for Art Festival from Friday 6 July until Sunday 8 July and we want to hear from you. We are looking for all sorts of ideas and there are many ways to be involved from submitting a piece of art work for exhibition, to a performance or workshop and to all kinds of things in between.

This year Jelly is celebrating its Silver Jubilee as well as this being the fifth year of Open for Art and we are looking to showcase the brilliant and outstanding work created in Reading. Last year was a celebration of art and design, from Lucienne Day to Frida Kahlo, we had live music, talks, walks, breakfast, cocktails and workshops for all ages and abilities – for a review of the wonderful things that happened last year, you can download a map here.

This year includes an event where artists will be taking over Broad Street for one day in a new partnership project – more details to be revealed soon.  We would love you to be involved in Open for Art 2018 so we are hosting ‘An Open Call Session’ on Tuesday 30 January at our studios in Broad Street Mall from 1 – 3pm. Feel free to pop along and find out more about how we can support you or how to volunteer. If you are coming, please do let us know so we have enough biscuits.

Once you know how you want to be involved, let us know.
To be considered for the artists trail or if you want to run an event during Open for Art 2018, please send an expression of interest by Wednesday 7 February to suzanne@jelly.org.uk

To volunteer during the event email us by Wednesday 7 February to alexandra@jelly.org.uk so that we know how many of our excellent t-shirts we will need.
