Meet your Maker 2016 – Caroline Streatfield-Chalk

Second day of being open, Festive Knit Night last night was great, so many knitters and their beautiful makes and a wonderful talk from an inspiration woman, Marilla Walker. And mince pies, stollen and mulled wine, what a perfect start to the festive period.
We’re gearing up for Santa’s arrival and have already been selling lots of lovely gifts for lucky people. Our next artist has some real gems to choose from prints to cushions.
CSC 2Tell us a little bit about what you do. 
I take my inspiration from the natural world and like to be spontaneous in my method of applying wax and paint to silk . I also make limited edition prints and cushions from my images
What is your favourite Reading landmark/place?
At the moment it’s the Oscar Wilde exhibition at Reading jail . But I like the Museum of Reading .
Do you remember visiting Jacksons for the first time?
I remember going to Jackson as a child and buying school uniform !
Would you describe yourself as traditional or modern?
I would describe my work as a modern way of using traditional methods of applying wax .
