Firstly we want to say thank you to everyone that has sent messages of support, ideas and suggestions of what to do next.
We have been overwhelmed by the love and are working through the ideas writing up plans, pulling things together and hope that in the future we may find a longer term more stable home. In the short term though we are very grateful to Reading Bicycle Kitchen who have offered us space for our studio artists and workshop programme in Jacksons alongside them, The Silvers Workshop and The Little Shop of Crafts and Gifts. We have worked many times in Jacksons on Heritage projects whilst it was still a store and so it feels like a natural home for creativity alongside the projects already running there.
You will be able to find us from February in what was Girls Uniform and Boys Uniform, where the studio artists will be making their work, our childrens and adults workshop programme will be running again plus life drawing, pop-up exhibitions and crafty events. Most of our studio artists and makers are coming with us and we will write another post soon with a list of all the things that will be happening and how you can join in.
Apologies for poor quality photos, these were taken the other evening, but we will follow up with more beautiful ones, we just wanted to share with you the spaces.
Any volunteers to help us move Thursday 29th and Friday 30th would be more than welcome – please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Lastly, thank you to everyone who came to our sale of things – we raised over £1200 for jelly. Not bad, when most things were £1! This has really helped us in the start up costs for the new space. Thank you all.
