Meet the Artist: Emma Wright, Aunt Elsie’s Spring Fling 3-4 May

It's not long now until our next Aunt Elsie event and we are delighted to introduce one of our new participants, Emma Wright:

The Emma Press is a small press with a big heart, dedicated to celebrating romance and poetry in ways that are accessible and easy on the eye. The Press was founded in Winnersh in 2012 by Emma Wright and has since published one book of love poetry – The Flower and the Plough, by local poet Rachel Piercey – and a number of greetings cards and postcards, including the Napoleon BonaCard and the Brief Encounter poem-on-a-postcard.

The Emma Press aims to create product which are sweet and funny, and if not completely cheerful then at the very least optimistic. This is a very personal kind of publishing house, full of its founder's passions and dreams and hoping to inspire other people with them. You may notice a few other passions of the publisher on display at the Spring Fling stall, in particular in the schoolgirl Latin and flowery fabric confections displayed alongside the books.

In its brief life, the Press has already been featured on BBC Radio Berkshire and in the Wokingham Times, calling for local poets to contribute to The Emma Press Anthology of Mildly Erotic Verse, which will be publishing in September. There is still time to get involved, so if you write poetry then do feel free to stop by and ask about this exciting project.
